They accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, making them excellent antifreeze agents for construction. They are also used as defogging agents in ports, dust collectors for roads, and fire retardants for fabrics. They are also used as protective and refining agents in aluminum and magnesium metallurgy. They are precipitants in the production of lake pigments. They are used in waste paper processing for deinking. They are also a raw material for the production of calcium salts.
