Calcium chloride (chemical formula: CaCl2) is a white or slightly yellowish solid inorganic compound belonging to the salt family and a typical ionic halide. Its high solubility, hygroscopicity, and dehydrating properties make it widely used in various fields. It exists in different physical forms depending on its hydration form, the most common being the dihydrate (CaCl2·2H2O). Its high solubility enables it to dissolve rapidly in water, releasing a large amount of heat, making it very useful in applications requiring rapid heating or drying. 1. It is used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as for drying gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, and sulfur dioxide. It is also used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers, and acrylic resins. Aqueous calcium chloride solutions are important refrigerants for refrigerators and ice making. They accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, making them excellent antifreeze agents for construction. They are also used as defogging agents in ports, dust collectors for roads, and fire retardants for fabrics. Used as a protective agent and refining agent in aluminum-magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitant in the production of lake pigments. It is used for deinking waste paper. It is a raw material for the production of calcium salts.
2. It is used as a chelating agent; a curing agent; a calcium fortifier; a refrigerant for refrigeration; a desiccant; an anticaking agent; an antimicrobial agent; a pickling agent; and a texturizing agent.
3. It is used as a desiccant, a road dust collector, a fog remover, a fabric fire retardant, a food preservative, and in the manufacture of calcium salts.

6. It is primarily used to treat tetany, urticaria, exudative edema, intestinal and ureteral colic, and magnesium poisoning caused by hypocalcemia.
7. It is used as a calcium fortifier, curing agent, chelating agent, and desiccant in the food industry.
8. It can increase the permeability of bacterial cell walls.
